We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scaleSenior Software Engineer – High Voltage Battery Sensor CommunicationDesign, develop and validate software for embedded controls systems in the electrification domain for High Voltage Battery Sensor Communication / Wired-Wireless Communication and Sensing.Design, development and implementation of Physics and Controls requirements to continuously improve software for mechatronic controls and diagnostics strategies as well as controller communication.Test & demonstrate software functionality & readinessSupply common solutions across all GM owned softwareDocument requirements for design solutions and link them to test cases that can demonstrate software functionalityUtilize automated test tools in build environments, benches, and vehicles to verify functionality of the feature at the Controller, System and Vehicle levelUtilize hardware in the loop and vehicle systems to continuously validate software features and improvements.Continuously utilize data for software feature refinement and improvementTeam CollaborationProvide leadership to Agile Scrum team members to deliver software solutionsLead, coordinate and collaborate w/ departments outside VMEC such as Systems & Safety, Electrical Architecture, Software Defined Vehicle, Calibration and Vehicle PerformanceProvide a voice in software planning events, share ideas & learnings and help teach/train othersMentor junior engineersRequired SkillsetBS in Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or BS in Computer ScienceMinimum 5+ years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in job-related area – embedded controls softwareProficient in C, C++ programmingExperience with C hand code and/or MATLAB/Simulink model-based development; working knowledge of GitHub, Optimus, CPPu, INCA, and MDKKnowledge of Auto Code GenerationOutstanding levels of interpersonal and relationship management skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as requiredEmerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative/self-directedConsistent demonstration of innovative thinking that is customer-centricPreferred SkillsMS in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or Computer ScienceExperience with JIRA and Scaled Agile FrameworkHigh Voltage Battery Sensor CommunicationExperience with bootloader, embedded operating systems, controller communication or diagnosticsKnowledge of AUTOSAR standards and methodologyKnowledge and experience with CAN, LIN, ARXML, or Ethernet communications protocolSome experience with artificial intelligence (AI) for software development#LI-SW1This job is not eligible for relocation benefits.
