Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting function for a well-established manufacturing organization. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the company's financial information, maintaining strong internal controls, and delivering timely, accurate financial reporting.The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who anticipates issues before they arise, develops practical solutions, and builds a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership and operational teams to provide financial insight that supports strategic business decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial LeadershipLead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers through timely reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.Prepare and analyze financial statements, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities while recommending corrective actions.Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.Accounting OperationsOversee all accounting functions, including:General LedgerAccounts PayableAccounts ReceivableInventory & Cost AccountingFixed AssetsPayroll AccountingRevenue RecognitionTreasury supportMonth-end and year-end closeInternal Controls & ComplianceEstablish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.Ensure audit readiness through accurate reconciliations and documentation.Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary contact for auditors.Support banking relationships, tax compliance, and other financial reporting requirements.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while creating a culture of ownership and accountability.Establish clear responsibilities and performance expectations for all team members.Cross-train staff to ensure adequate backup coverage for critical accounting processes.Foster professional development and continuous improvement throughout the department.Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation and ERP optimization.Develop standardized procedures and documentation to improve efficiency and consistency.Partner with IT to maximize system capabilities and streamline financial operations.Business PartnershipCollaborate with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Executive Leadership to provide financial insight that supports business objectives.Monitor key financial metrics and proactively communicate potential risks.Support budgeting, forecasting, capital investments, and strategic initiatives.What Success Looks LikeAccurate and timely monthly financial reportingConsistent, predictable month-end close processAudit-ready reconciliations and documentationStrong internal controls and financial complianceProactive identification and communication of financial risksContinuous process improvement and operational efficiencyDevelopment of a high-performing, accountable accounting teamQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance5-10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller responsibilitiesStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reportingExperience leading month-end and year-end close processesExperience managing accounting teams in a manufacturing environmentStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent leadership and communication abilitiesAdvanced proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and Microsoft ExcelPreferredCPA, CMA, or MBAManufacturing, inventory, and cost accounting experienceExperience with ERP implementation or optimization initiativesExperience supporting external audits and banking relationshipsYou should be proficient in:Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Machines & technologies you'll use:ERP SoftwareAccounting Software (NetSuite, SAP, Quickbooks) #J-18808-Ljbffr Torrey Holistics
