Job Summary:
The organization in Martinsburg, West Virginia, is seeking qualified candidates for a Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor position. This role involves providing patient care on a MedSurg Orthopedic and Neuro unit, with a focus on acute care. Candidates must bring their license on the first day. The position requires a minimum of two years of clinical experience in a similar setting.

Job Details:

• Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, scheduled every other weekend and every other holiday
• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts with minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid license (willing to wait), BLS (AHA) certification, NIHSS certification, at least 2 years of experience, proficiency in basic arrhythmia knowledge and recognition of fatal rhythms, experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience on orthopedic/neuro units, familiarity with MedSurg overflow patient care
• Additional Information: Unit type is MedSurg Orthopedic/Neuro, with patient types including spinal, seizure, craniectomy, traction, and overflow patients. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6. The facility has in-house pharmacy, RT (respiratory therapy), and hospitalist services available 24/7. Shift requests are managed through Kronos with at least two weeks notice for four-week blocks, and floating may be required except to ED or Behavioral Health units.
• Submission Requirements: Only one position can be submitted at a time across the WVU system. Candidates must have a drivers license outside a 50-mile radius of the facility. Previous permanent candidates must be gone for two years; previous travelers for one full year must also wait two years. All submittals must include an unexpired drivers license copy.
• Other Notes: Attendance is highly important; previous managers' feedback may be contacted. Travelers are expected to work holidays if needed, and the client may cancel up to 2 shifts in a 13-week cycle or 1 shift in shorter assignments.
