Claims Specialist III, Auto & General Liability

Responsibilities Handle and analyze general liability claims under general supervision and moderate exposure claims involving litigation. Ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within Company standards, industry best practices, and client service requirements. Analyze and process general liability property damage claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure; develop action plans for prompt and cost-effective resolution. Direct independent adjusters to gather information, determine exposure, and control costs as needed. Identify and evaluate coverage issues; prepare comprehensive coverage letters with supervisory review; coordinate with coverage counsel when necessary. Assess liability and resolve claims within established evaluation; maintain diaries, complete tasks on time, and document coverage, damages, reserves, and liability with a clear action plan for resolution. Qualifications 3+ years of general and auto liability claim experience. Experience resolving moderate severity injury claims and evaluating complex coverage scenarios. Ability to collaborate and manage work in flexible environments (home or office). Proven ability to initiate and champion change initiatives that leverage technology and improve benchmarking skills. Creative problem solving and the ability to achieve business goals; strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective decision-making skills including analyzing and improving claims performance against standards and goals. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. Ability to obtain multi-state adjuster licenses within 6 months of hire. Salary, Benefits and Work Environment Salary ranges: Illinois $84,000-$101,000; Boston $88,000-$100,000; New Jersey $86,000-$100,000. Eligible for a bonus under the applicable incentive plan.
