Responsibilities Develop and manage new commercial banking relationships to expand the bank’s portfolio. Assess client needs and deliver tailored financial products and services to business customers. Negotiate, structure, and process commercial loans, ensuring proper documentation and risk management. Monitor and maintain the quality and profitability of assigned commercial loan portfolios. Cross-sell additional banking products to deepen relationships and achieve budgeted growth targets. Collaborate with credit and loan servicing teams to ensure thorough credit analysis and regulatory compliance. Actively participate in networking, community, and industry events to enhance business development efforts and nurture referral sources. Stay current on banking regulations, complete annual compliance training, and recommend policy improvements. Must-Have Skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field. At least three years of specialized commercial lending experience or commercial loan/business development. Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and presentation software. Ability to analyze financial statements and interpret lending regulations. Experience in managing client relationships and driving new business opportunities. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to attend meetings, events, and branch visits. Nice-to-Have Skills Specialized training in commercial lending or certifications relevant to banking. Familiarity with SBA 7A/504C lending and loan workout strategies. Experience presenting commercial credit proposals to committees or senior management. Active participation in local professional or community organizations.
