Psychiatrist - Medical Director

Job Title: Medical Director - Behavioral Health Pay rate: $137 - 145/hr. Location: 100% Remote only in approved states (AK, AR, AZ, CO, FL, HI, IA, ID, IL, KS, LA, MD, MN, MO, MT, NE, NV, NM, NC, ND, OK, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA/DC, WA, WI, WY) Schedule: Day shift | 40 hours weekly (Hours may vary for priority leadership meetings and team collaboration) Job type: 6-9 month contract with potential FTE conversion Overview: The Medical Director provides clinical oversight to facility-directed Behavioral Health activities throughout the West Region. Functions as a senior Behavioral Health clinical consultant for our Medical Management, reporting to the Behavioral Health Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Consults directly with the facility staff on clinical Behavioral Health issues. Medical Qualifications MD degree, Board Certification in Psychiatry, and an active, unrestricted license in one of the listed states. Minimum 5 years of medical practice and 5 years of medical management experience in a Managed Care environment. Experience in UM, QM, Case Management, and Disease Management is preferred. TRICARE, VA, or other Government health plan experience is preferred. An advanced degree in Medical Management is preferred, but not required Federal & Security Requirements Eligibility for DoD security clearance. Veterans: Ability to provide DD214 if offered.
