Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Current RN license required Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Must-Have: - 2 years current experience in Labor and Delivery - Experience with patient ratios of 1:2 - Cerner charting system experience preferred Description: Please carefully read the submittal instructions before applying. Bi-weekly orientation required. On-call commitment of 36 hours every 6 weeks is expected. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend or 2 weekends per month. Travelers requesting time off during any holiday or holiday week will not be accommodated. Mandatory certifications include ACLS, AWHONN, BLS, NIHSS, and NRP. This position may require floating as necessary. The nurse-patient ratio in the Labor and Delivery unit is 1:2. Familiarity with administering blood products, epidural anesthesia, and C-section assistance is essential. Responsibilities include triage of obstetrical patients and management of postpartum hemorrhage. Candidates should have experience in high-risk deliveries and breastfeeding support. Floating to the Mother/Baby unit may be necessary based on staffing needs. Travelers with holidays off requests must communicate directly with the manager upon arrival. Patient age groups will range from neonates to adults. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. The role involves care for patients experiencing a variety of conditions related to labor and delivery. This position requires adherence to policies regarding floating and orientation.
