General Description:


ERS is seeking a single resource with expert-level experience in Tableau Desktop visualization development, along with solid experience in Alteryx and Tableau Server administration and support.


The selected individual will utilize Alteryx and Tableau while collaborating closely with the Executive Office staff and IT team to support the creation of scorecards for the Data Quality Management program. Additionally, they will play a key role in enhancing the agency's proficiency in Tableau Desktop and Application Server administration. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong proficiency in these tools, with a deep understanding of best practices, governance, standards, data collection, analysis, story development, and the creation of highly advanced, polished visualizations.


Functional responsibilities:
• As a Data Analyst and Report Writer, the worker will function as a part of a team and must have


the following skills:


o Work with the team on review of existing Tableau sites and projects


o Work with staff to consume refreshed data and update the Tableau server and visualizations


o Work with staff to build Alteryx workflows to create data sources for Tableau dashboards


o Tableau, Alteryx, SharePoint, MS SQL and Oracle integration


o Designs, develops, and maintains professional customer facing dashboards in Tableau server using various reproducible data sources, views, calculations, and parameters.


o Balance the use of standard reporting templates and metrics with the creative use of those templates and metrics to create compelling client narratives


o Provide guidance on best practices and standards for Tableau Desktop developers to create their own visualizations


o Provide guidance on best practices and standards for Tableau Server analysts to interact, modify, and create their own visualizations


o Provide guidance on appropriate governance around both Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server


o Provide support for issues/questions on using Tableau


o Provide guidance on best practices around upgrading Tableau Desktop across the enterprise

Advanced experience developing and supporting Tableau Desktop

Ability to mine data leveraging SQL (SQL Server and Oracle)

Demonstrated statistical, analytical, and writing skills

Very strong experience soliciting, documenting, and communicating user requirements

Demonstrated hands-on experience using Alteryx and Python

Experience around documentation of standards, best practices, and governance as it relates to Alteryx, Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server and BusinessObjects (BOBJ)

Experience in data warehouse environment, ETL development, monitor and optimize ETL processes.

Experience in writing and optimize complex SQL queries for reporting and analytics needs
