HVAC Technician - Intermediate Level

Job Description Job Description Tri City AC & Heat is family-owned and operated business that has been serving the Greater Houston area for over 35 years. We service a mix of residential and light commercial with our home office located in Pasadena, TX. We are seeking an energetic individual for an intermediate level HVAC technician with 1+ years' experience in the field - technical school training a plus. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ● 1+ years MINIMUM experience in these area's: installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and correcting diverse HVAC service issues ● EPA Universal 608 certified ● Clean Driving Record, 2 years ● Reliable transportation to office in Pasadena ● Must be able to pass a background check and drug test ● United States Work authorization ● Graduate of HVAC Trade School Program (not required, preferred) SKILLS: ● Skilled in testing and trouble-shooting HVAC systems & components ● Understanding of and ability to determine sub-cool, superheat, Air Flow, etc. ● Experienced in replacement of motors, compressors, coils, heat exchangers, etc. ● Good communication and analytical skills, both written and verbal and ability to work with various software programs utilized by the company. ● Must provide own basic trade hand tools and gauges ● Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English. Bilingual a plus. ● Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations. ● Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time. ● Good organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing situations. ● Display team effort and dedication to staff and customer by maintaining flexibility to work overtime as the business requires. ● Flexible to utilize skill sets to complete projects as they arise within the company to aid in growth. RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning for residential and light commercial equipment. ● Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical and electrical components of HVAC systems. ● Travel to job sites in service area, and work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer. ● Be available to work occasional evenings or Saturday's, to service emergency needs of our customers. (Normal hours are 9am - 6pm) ● Maintain good working order of company vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form. ● Organize and maintain proper stock, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle - working with inventory software. ● Navigate online service software to complete jobs in an organized manner from dispatch to invoicing. ● Documentation of all customer equipment and pictures as necessary. ● Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer's recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is needed to correct. ● Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies and safety standards.
