The role coordinates with the Food Service Director/Manager to ensure that quality food service and nutritional care are provided. Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field Licenses/Certification : Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association License or certification as mandated by the state of employment ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred Experience : Experience in a long‑term care environment and geriatric nutrition preferred Job Functions Maintain clinical nutrition documentation for residents in accordance with policy and regulations Ensure accurate, timely assessments and progress notes in the medical record Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop and evaluate care plans Involve residents and families in planning objectives and goals Coordinate with Food Service Director/Manager to review and customize menus, ensuring therapeutic diets are planned appropriately Monitor food temperatures and quality at point of service Monitor distribution of nourishment, supplements, and meals and take corrective action Assist with processing diet orders and ensuring accurate tray cards Obtain diet history and preferences for new residents upon admission Inspect food service areas and practices routinely Participate in the long‑term care survey process Assist with purchasing decisions for food, supplies, and equipment, and provide training for Nutrition Services employees Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Effective communication with residents, families, and all organizational levels Accuracy, conciseness, and attention to detail Knowledge of safe food preparation and handling techniques Knowledge of quantity food production #J-18808-Ljbffr
