Tax Manager

Our client has an opening for a Tax Manager at their Denver office. Working with partners and managers to lead, mentor and coach team members in various areas of tax compliance and across consulting engagements in an effort to help clients minimize tax liabilities. They are responsible for management of engagements and client communications while promoting a collaborative environment to bring value to clients. Primary responsibilities include exhibiting a high level understanding of technical requirements, procedures and principles, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of specialized industry and/or regulatory requirements, helping to manage and monitor preparation and review of complex S Corporation, C Corporation, partnership, multistate and individual tax returns, including projections and estimate calculations, reviewing and advising on technical research memorandum, researching and reviewing work papers for various book to tax differences, applying relevant tax law to particular clients and circumstances, identifying areas of specialization and continuously refining skills, knowledge and expertise, collaborating with others to provide quality service to clients, engaging in professional and efficient communication with clients, leading client meetings, promoting additional services to client when appropriate, developing intimate knowledge of clients and their business activities, communicating with the IRS and other state authorities in a professional manner when applicable, effectively delegating responsibility providing proper instructions, monitoring and coaching, conducting training for associates, managing projects by scheduling associates, tracking completion and managing the budget, maintaining open communication with team regarding the progress of completion on projects, participating actively in training and developmental opportunities, both as an attendee and as a facilitator, managing all aspects of billing, including client inquiries, and developing appropriate fee quotes for new tax engagements. Networking to promote business and bring in new clients is also required.

Qualifications: Accounting undergraduate degree required, Master's preferred. CPA required. 5+ years of tax experience is required. Advanced knowledge of Federal and income tax laws and principles of individual and business taxation is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong time management, organizational and prioritization skills. Strong project management and delegation skills.
