About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 12 months Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months in a related field required. License: Must have in-state license and required certifications in hand prior to start. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS preferred. Must-Have: Telemetry skills IV start skills Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drips Experience with BiPAP and High Flow Oxygen Description: The position requires nurses to provide care in a progressive care unit. This unit specializes in cardiac and medical patients. The role involves monitoring patients who are in a true ICU stepdown situation. Candidates will be responsible for administering medications and managing various drips, including Levo, Dopa, Nitro, Cardizem, and Amio. A strong understanding of patient ratios and the ability to float within the facility are essential. Nurses will care for adults and geriatric patients. Successful candidates must be willing to work weekends and 2 out of 3 major holidays. The unit supports diverse medical needs requiring comprehensive skillsets. Previous charge experience is preferred but not mandatory. It is vital to be adept at interpreting dysrhythmias and managing high-acuity patients. All travelers must comply with specific floating requirements. Knowledge of vent management and conscious sedation practices is beneficial. The environment emphasizes teamwork and interdisciplinary support in patient care.
