Manufacturing Tooling EngineerThe Manufacturing Tooling Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient production, high-quality output, and cost-effective operations within a manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop tooling, fixtures, jigs, and gauges to support production processesCollaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to optimize manufacturability and efficiencySupport new product launches by developing and validating tooling solutionsAnalyze and improve existing tooling to increase throughput, reduce downtime, and enhance product qualityTroubleshoot tooling and process issues on the production floorManage tooling lifecycle including maintenance, repair, and replacement strategiesWork with external vendors and suppliers on tooling fabrication and modificationsImplement lean manufacturing principles, including continuous improvement and waste reduction initiativesDevelop and maintain documentation such as tooling drawings, specifications, and work instructionsEnsure compliance with safety standards and company policiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field3+ years of experience in tooling design or manufacturing engineering (varies by level)Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)Strong understanding of machining, fabrication, and assembly processesExperience with GD&T and blueprint readingKnowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologiesStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in CNC machining, injection molding, stamping, or casting environmentsLean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)Experience with automation and process optimizationFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systemsKey SkillsTooling Design & DevelopmentProcess ImprovementProject ManagementRoot Cause AnalysisCross-Functional CollaborationTechnical TroubleshootingWork EnvironmentCombination of office and manufacturing floor settingExposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures depending on facilityEmail resume to View email address on click.appcast.io qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
