Sr. Solutions Engineer

Salary: $110,000 - 150,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a four-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• We look for 10 or more years of relevant professional experience.
• We require advanced knowledge of laser equipment, processes, and applications.
• We require advanced knowledge of arc welding equipment, processes, and applications.
• We need working knowledge of SolidWorks.
• We require advanced experience with simulation and off-line programming software.
• Familiarity with Visual Components is expected.
• Experience with robot-specific off-line programming tools such as RoboGuide, KukaSim, or MotoSim is required.
• Expertise in interpreting and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing is required.
• We need strong creative problem-solving ability to compare multiple viable solutions and assess tradeoffs.
• We require excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills are required.
• We expect a detail-oriented approach and thorough execution.
• We need the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
• We need the ability to deliver results under sales and project schedule pressure.
• We value a trustworthy, reliable team player who can work with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to remain stationary for extended periods while programming and using software is required.
• The role requires frequent presence in a manufacturing environment for testing, troubleshooting, and issue investigation.
• The ability to ascend and descend ladders occasionally is required.

• We support the sales process and customer project delivery.
• We evaluate the manufacturability of customer parts and advise on design improvements when appropriate.
• We concept and validate solutions using simulation software.
• We perform off-line robot programming in a range of software platforms.
• We handle our most complex and large-scale automation projects.
• We provide training, guidance, and oversight to VSE team members.
• We support Sales, Process Engineering, and Project Teams.
• We review and contribute input to customer proposals when requested.
• We generate new solution layouts or continue developing concepts created during quoting.
• We validate solutions through simulation to reduce uncertainty and process risk.
• We optimize part orientation, cell layout, robot reach, payload, tool and fixture access, and takt time.
• We direct Mechanical Design and Tool Design in implementing validated layouts for detailed engineering work.
• We review integrated system and tool designs to confirm reach, access, and clearance requirements.
• We create virtual work cells and off-line robot programs when needed.
• We become proficient with the 3D printer and Insight software.
• We maintain solution configurations within simulation software.
• We collaborate with design personnel and the project team to implement simulated solutions and manage change throughout the project lifecycle.
• We evaluate manufacturing takt time through simulation.
• We perform other related work and special projects.
• We follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
