Mental Health Technician Day Shift (Co-ed Unit)

The Brook Dupont, located in Louisville, KY, is an 88-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for adults. We are currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health Technician to join our Co-ed Unit on the day shift. In this role, you will support the safety, structure, and therapeutic environment of our patients by working closely with the multidisciplinary team.

Job Duties:

• Performs safety checks daily and as needed per guidelines
• Knows location and condition of all patients at all times
• Ensure proper hand off of clinical information
• Assists in management of behavior and control of destructive/unsafe behavior per facility guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications Requirements:

• Education High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
• Years of experience needed No experience required. Direct patient care experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
• Certifications Must maintain current CPR certification.
• Computer skills Ability to: gain training through web-based programs; participate in employee surveys; enroll in company benefits.
• Communication Must possess excellent verbal skills in communicating with patients, coworkers and visitors.
• Teamwork Must be able to actively participate in a treatment team environment.
• Service Excellence Consistently demonstrates all Service Excellence Standards.
• Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations:
• Week 1: M-F 9 AM - 5 PM
• Week 2: 3 Orientation Shifts
• Week 3: M-Th 9 AM 4 PM
