Senior Director, Finance Transformation

About the Role In FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring organization, the Finance Transformation Senior Director leads teams to reduce complexity and cost within the finance function, improve service levels, and enhance process efficiency. The role focuses on supporting clients in designing and executing finance transformation initiatives that strengthen reporting capabilities and enable data‑driven insights. What You’ll Do Lead finance transformation projects, including finance function assessment, operating‑model design, service delivery model design (shared service center, outsourcing, global business services), cost reduction, process optimization/automation, and financial/management reporting rationalization. Manage client relationships on a day‑to‑day basis, owning deliverables, communications, and the coordination of the FTI team. Provide independent perspective on finance and accounting organization trends, challenges, and best practices. Present client deliverables and proactively anticipate client needs to identify opportunities for additional value creation across finance, IT, HR, and operations. Support senior leadership in developing tools, methodologies, playbooks, and other resources to grow the practice. Identify business development opportunities and participate in client pursuits. Coach, train, and mentor junior staff, taking a leadership role in talent development. How You’ll Grow The performance expectations for our client’s finance function are at a new peak. Desired Experience & Qualifications Basic Qualifications 8+ years of relevant post‑graduate experience. Experience in project management and leading workstreams, especially in finance transformation, FP&A, or business process design/improvement initiatives. Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Demonstrable expertise in process improvement and operating/service delivery model design. Deep knowledge of finance and accounting best practices, processes, systems, and governance. Excellent teamwork, client‑facing, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel to clients and FTI offices as needed. Preferred Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) certifications, or an MBA. Experience in management consulting. Ability to take ownership of project leadership, training, and staff development. Capacity to handle multiple client stakeholders and external teams with confidence. Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem‑solving, with mature judgment to present solution paths. Capability to sell work to new clients and further develop existing client relationships. Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, PowerPoint, Excel). Compensation Minimum Pay: $154,500 | Maximum Pay: $302,000. The range reflects potential base salary for the role; actual compensation is determined by market and individual factors.
