Employment Details Position: Wellness Manager (RN or LPN) | Sunscape Boca Raton | Coconut Creek, FL | Employment: Full-Time Job Summary Responsible for carrying out the instructions of the Director of Wellness. Supervise and monitor nursing staff to obtain highest quality care by performing routine nursing duties. Accountable to the Director of Wellness/Executive Director for all nursing department activities and maintaining the corporate philosophy of quality care. Responsibilities Supervise HHAs, CNAs and facility staff. Make daily rounds of all Assisted Living residents and retirement residents if needed. Observe and report symptoms and conditions of patients to the Director of Wellness (DOW), Delegating RN, or Physician. Administer medications and treatments per signed doctor’s orders in an accurate, safe manner; observe effectiveness and report to physician if needed. Inform DOW when supplies and equipment are needed. Order medication from pharmacy when needed. Supervise the Home Health Aide to ensure that all nursing care is given properly, safely, and of the highest quality. Administer emergency first aid. Ensure daily assignments for patient care and incidental duties performed by nurses and HHAs as outlined by DOW; document as required (V/S, weights, nurse’s notes, medication, kardex, etc.). Make daily rounds of all patients and areas; recognize, interpret, and report conditions to the DOW/RN/ED as needed. Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the nurse’s station, med room, and cart. Assist in the orientation of new staff. Complete admission and discharge evaluations as necessary. Check equipment for cleanliness and condition. Provide guidance for nursing assistants. Promote and maintain good interpersonal relationships with residents, visitors and personnel. Perform related work as required per assignment; duties apply to both assisted living and independent residents throughout the facility. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, currently licensed to practice per state. Work experience in the geriatric field. Ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. Ability to interact with visitors, staff and residents in a courteous manner. Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 lbs. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure at times. Good grooming practices, personal hygiene, punctuality and regular attendance. Warm, friendly, congenial personality with a professional appearance and empathetic attitude towards seniors. Ability to assess a resident’s condition and intervene when needed. CPR certified, or obtained within 90 days of hire and yearly thereafter. May have their picture taken and image used in social media or community advertising. May be video recorded from devices installed by families in residents’ apartments.
