Manufacturing Technician III, Instruments Company: Luminex Corporation Location: Austin, Texas Job Scope The Manufacturing Technician III, Instruments will be responsible for assembly and integration of mechanical, fluidic, electronic, optical, and electro‑mechanical systems. They will deliver manufacturing requirements against production or project schedules, conduct system integration testing and troubleshooting for all products in support of quality manufacturing production. The role may require alternate shifts. Product knowledge, documentation transfer, training, and inter‑departmental communication are required. Key Duties and Responsibilities Stage material for production as needed. Coordinate with other technicians daily in support of integration testing, manual instruction development, and production process development to support a quality process and product. Hands‑on assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of system builds and re‑work. Work from documented procedures and maintain quality data. Deliver manufacturing requirements and meet production schedule. Coordinate process and manual instruction updates. Share knowledge and train co‑workers and new employees. Establish effective working partnerships with other departments to promote effective communication and transfer knowledge. Participate in applicable departmental and inter‑departmental training. Maintain current standard operating procedures, work instructions, and applicable changes affecting Reagent Manufacturing. Maintain cleanliness and integrity of manufacturing and storage areas. Perform timely and accurate inventory cycle counts and inventory‑based transactions in Oracle. Maintain production builds as needed. Utilize developed writing skills for process updates, including SOP creation. Understand change control process and implement necessary changes. Understand system configuration management and material procurement as a finished‑good product. Maintain personal compliance and facilitate departmental compliance with the Quality System. Adhere to safety, disposal, and gowning requirements. Test and troubleshoot systems. Other duties as assigned. Education, Experience, and Qualifications Associate’s degree in a technical electronics or mechanical field. 3+ years of experience in a medical device manufacturing environment with a focus on troubleshooting and problem resolution. Product knowledge, documentation transfer, training, and inter‑departmental communication skills. Specific product build knowledge for 40‑60% of all assemblies currently produced in manufacturing.
