HVAC Service ManagerMechanical Service, Field OperationsDulles, VA • ID: 5307 • Full-Time/RegularManages teams of HVAC service technicians through service supervisors in the safe and efficient servicing of commercial industry trades, equipment, components & systems.Position DetailsDirectly responsible for the overall delivery and financial performance of a book of business - made up of Service Agreements, Quoted Repairs and T&M (Time & Material) Work.Manages assigned teams typically lead by supervisors. Manages and monitors team performance. Communicates goals and provides performance appraisals to direct reports.Provides coaching, training and development plans as appropriate.Manages teams to meet growth and profitability goals. Ensures technicians adhere to all legal, regulatory compliance, safety and risk management policies and procedures.Provides technical support and guidance to supervisor and technicians as needed.Assists with service quotes and estimates to support sales and growth initiatives. Assists sales staff, as requested, with collecting data necessary to assemble accurate and timely service estimates.Manages and reviews financial statements, sales and activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievements and identifies areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.Monitors work performed to ensure quality of work, cost estimates and customer expectations are met.Coordinates with account managers to discuss and fully understand customer scope of service prior to assuming responsibility for quoted repairs or new maintenance contracts.Visits job sites to evaluate technician abilities, performance, and safety compliance.Manages the selection, ordering and delivery of supplies and equipment for technicians on assigned projects.Strengthens customer relationship and investigates customer complaints to help remedy the situation and promptly implement corrective measures as required. Identifies trends and recommends sustainable solution to the next level of management as appropriate.Actively involved in the hiring, development and counseling of employees, including developing and conducting group meetings and training employees.Performs additional assignments as requested/needed.QualificationsHigh school degree or GED7 years of experience performing HVAC service maintenance and repair work within the mechanical industry, including lead experienceOSHA-30 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six (6) months from date of hire)Valid U.S. Driver License and clean driving recordSuccessful completion of a trade/technical training program preferredStrong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, RTUs, VRF systems, controls, and building automation systems.Working knowledge of business/industry practices, processes and standardsStrong understanding of service scheduling, dispatching, and operational performanceStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsAbility to successfully lead a team and motivate workersBenefits401(k) plan with 50% company match (no cap) and immediate 100% vestingMedical, dental, and vision insurance (100% paid for employee)Annual bonus program based upon performance, achievement, and company profitabilityTerm life, AD&D insurance, and voluntary life insuranceDisability income protection insurancePre-tax flexible spending plans (health and dependent care)Paid parental leavePaid holidays, vacation, and personal timeTraining/professional development opportunities and company-paid memberships for professional associations and licensesWellness benefitsPay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For (Colorado/New York City/California/Washington/Maryland/Virginia) this ranges from $132,293.00 - $161,692.00 plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.Contingent Employment: All employment offers are contingent upon successful drug tests, background checks, and professional reference checks.
