Job Title: General Laborer Job Description

The General Laborer provides essential hands-on support across an outdoor industrial facility, performing highly physical tasks such as cleaning, material handling, and assisting maintenance crews. This role involves working in confined spaces, operating around conveyors and heavy equipment, and spending most of each shift on your feet while contributing to safe, efficient plant operations.

• Remove hardened and built-up material from conveyor systems to ensure smooth and safe operation.
• Shovel raw material and clean up any material that falls outside conveyor systems.
• Assist mechanics with the extraction and removal of raw materials during maintenance and repair activities.
• Retrieve tools and equipment for maintenance crews and support their work as needed.
• Perform general sweeping, cleaning, and overall plant housekeeping to maintain a clean and organized facility.
• Provide general labor support throughout the facility, stepping into various tasks as operational needs arise.
• Work in confined spaces when required, following all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Spend the majority of each shift standing, walking, shoveling, and performing repetitive heavy physical labor.
• Follow all safety protocols when working around cement, dust, raw materials, conveyors, and heavy industrial equipment.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

• Experience performing physical labor in general labor, construction, concrete or cement, landscaping, demolition, industrial, or similarly demanding environments.
• Comfort working in an extremely physical, hands-on industrial setting for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive heavy physical labor, including shoveling and manual material handling.
• Reliability and commitment to working the entire scheduled shift.
• Experience using hand tools in an industrial or construction environment.
• Comfort working with or around power tools as part of general labor tasks.
• Ability to work safely in confined spaces when required.
• Capability to remain on your feet for shifts of up to approximately 11 hours and 50 minutes.

• Previous general labor experience in construction, concrete or cement work, landscaping, demolition, or industrial environments.
• Experience prepping, cleaning, and loading materials in a plant or jobsite setting.
• Familiarity with working around conveyors and heavy industrial equipment.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform a wide range of manual tasks.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment as required.

This role is based in a completely outdoor facility with no fans or climate-controlled coverage, requiring comfort working for extended periods in direct heat and varying weather conditions. The environment is extremely physical and hands-on, with continuous exposure to cement, dust, raw materials, conveyors, and heavy industrial equipment. You spend most of each shift on your feet, potentially up to approximately 11 hours and 50 minutes, performing repetitive manual tasks such as shoveling and cleaning. Work may involve entering confined spaces while adhering to strict safety protocols. Appropriate industrial work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety and comfort in this demanding setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Gibsonton, FL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
