This senior role involves owning the data pipelines for accounts, documents, move money, custodial integration and Directives (aka change orders), defining product roadmaps and vision, and leading cross-functional teams to deliver major product initiatives. You'll work at a strategic level while maintaining hands-on execution excellence.We can only consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Charlotte, NC office.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy & Roadmap:Own entire custodial data and operations platform with full strategic accountabilityDefine product roadmaps and vision for custodial data and operations, maintaining 12-month roadmapsEnsure engineering teams are productively deployed and aligned with strategic objectivesLead cross-functional teams to deliver complex product initiatives such as straight-through processing for account open and move moneyContribute actively to strategy and roadmap development for other parts of the product estateProduct Design, Development, & Execution:Design significant and complex new features that may require new platform patternsIndependently design user experiences and specify shovel-ready platform enhancementsDecompose complex product ideas into actionable user stories and lead feature development across multiple teamsTrack and forecast team capacity, resolving conflicts a quarter or more in advanceRun multiple complex projects in parallel while maintaining quality and timeline commitmentsQuickly ramp up and contribute to other parts of the product estate as neededFiercely protect engineering time to focus on designing, developing, and shipping productMaintain strong knowledge of technology stack and architecture for your product areaLeverage data and technical insights independently to drive strategic decisionsStakeholder & Ecosystem Engagement:Serve as a trusted partner sought after by internal stakeholdersOwn one or more internal stakeholder relationships at senior levelsDemo all features in your area internally and externally, adapting to audience and purposeDevelop comprehensive knowledge of competitive landscape and industry developmentsRepresent product capabilities and roadmap in high-stakes internal discussionsLeadership & Communication:Excel in cross-functional leadership, building consensus and driving alignment across departmentsManage and develop multiple product managers, providing feedback and building team capabilitiesAssess product, design, engineering, and QA candidates of equivalent or lower seniorityCommunicate effectively with executive leadership, tailoring messages from technical details to high-level summariesIdentify opportunities to improve SDLC processes and evangelize adoption across teamsKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesProven ability to define and execute comprehensive product strategies for complex money movement, custodial account and custodial integration platformsStrong technical acumen including understanding of software architecture, APIs, and engineering trade-offsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all organizational levelsData-driven decision making with advanced analytics and customer insight capabilitiesExperience leading cross-functional teams and driving results without formal authorityDeep understanding of wealth management, asset management, or fintech industriesAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution excellenceEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field5-8 years of product management experience with demonstrated progression in scope and impactStrong background in wealth management, asset management, or fintechExperience owning complete products or major product areas end-to-endTrack record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and complex product initiativesExperience mentoring and developing junior product management talentWhy Join AssetMark?Own complete products that drive significant business impact and advisor successLead strategic initiatives in a dynamic, growth-focused environmentWork with cutting-edge technology in the rapidly evolving wealth management spaceMentor and develop the next generation of product management talentShape the future of financial advisor technology and make a meaningful impact on the industryJoin a mission-driven organization with ambitious growth goals and strong market positionAssetMark values diversity of thought and background and is committed to building an inclusive workplace. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered.
