RESPONSIBILITIES/SUMMARY

At Neurofinity, in partnership with Morse Clinics, we are building a new standard of care for opioid use disorder, one that is grounded in connection, consistency, and long-term engagement. Recovery does not happen in isolation. It happens through relationships, trust, and coordinated support over time. The Amplified Peer Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting individuals engaged in treatment through the Morse Clinic. This position is dedicated to creating a welcoming, trauma-informed environment that encourages hope, empowerment, and recovery for participants receiving Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD). Drawing from personal lived experience, the Amplified Peer Support Specialist working closely with the Morse Clinic clinical team, provides mentorship, advocacy, and resource linkage, ensuring participants have the tools and support needed to sustain recovery. This position combines the structure and accountability of MOUD services with the deeply human work of peer support. Through lived experience, the APRS serves as a steady, trusted presence, walking alongside individuals throughout their recovery journey. Neurofinity provides supervision, leadership support, and a team-based environment to promote sustainability and prevent burnout. This role provides connection, dignity, and consistent support to individuals navigating recovery.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Relationship-Based Peer Support: Build trusting, consistent relationships with patients while providing encouragement, accountability, and emotional support, and maintaining regular outreach and engagement. Support for MOUD Engagement: Assist patients in understanding MOUD treatment by encouraging adherence, reducing stigma, and supporting weekend responsibilities. Care Coordination & Service Navigation: Collaborate closely with care team members and serving as a bridge across services. SDOH Barrier Resolution & Advocacy: Identify barriers such as housing and transportation, connect patients to appropriate community resources, and advocate for their needs. Documentation & Technology Use: Document all patient interactions while maintaining accurate and compliant records. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in team meetings and care planning while maintaining strong communication across teams. Ethical Practice & Professional Development: Uphold peer support ethics by maintaining confidentiality and appropriate boundaries while actively engaging in ongoing training.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. NC Certified Peer Support Specialist (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire).
3. Minimum of two years of sustained recovery and demonstrated knowledge of recovery principles.
4. Familiarity with MOUD and 12-Step recovery programs.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
7. Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
