Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong circulating and scrub skills and be able to handle a diverse and complex patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Assist with the preparation of the operating room and surgical instruments.
• Function effectively as a circulating and scrub nurse in various surgical cases.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in the management of patient care in a high-acuity environment.

Work Schedule

• Rotating Day Shifts: 2 shifts of 8 hours (06:45 - 15:15) and 2 shifts of 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15).
• Holidays: Required as scheduled.
• Weekend shifts: Required as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Operating Room as an RN; lead or charge RN experience is preferred.
• First-time travelers not accepted; prior travel experience required.
• Strong experience in circulating; scrub skills preferred.
• Active RN license for the state of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications such as CNOR, ACLS, PALS, and NIH preferred.

Facility Overview

The Operating Room accommodates 50 to 60 cases per day and supports 17 different surgical services, providing care for a wide patient age range from newborns to geriatrics. The unit handles complex cases including neuro, ortho/spine, crani, general (open/lap), robotics, ENT, and OMF, with a focus on high-acuity patient care.

Equipment

The OR utilizes advanced technology, including DaVinci XI and SP robotic systems.

Floating and On-Call Requirements

• Floating may be required within the specialty as needed.
• On-call shifts will be assigned, requiring a 60-minute response time.
