Veterinary Technician - Emergency

Shift available: 3 day, 12 hour shift, including Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 12pm-12am. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $23.50– $26 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We also offer a shift differential.

Heart of Texas is looking for an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. Role Responsibilities:

Emergency Veterinary Technicians perform a variety of animal-health duties and ensure quality pet and client care. The Emergency Technician should be proficient in duties including but not limited to: client care and communication, efficient patient assessments, quick response to emergencies, patient monitoring, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, patient recovery, anesthetic monitoring, diagnostic imaging, and medical math.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Strong veterinary skills
• Able to appropriately handle animals
• Able to assist in veterinary medical procedures
• Recent experience in a veterinary practice
• Willing to work weekends and holidays

Job Requirements:

• At least 3 years recent experience in veterinary practice
• Ability to perform routine veterinary medical procedures
• Excellent interpersonal communications skills
• High school diploma or GED
• Veterinary Technician license is preferred
• Previous emergency experience preferred but not required
