Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift position requiring SC or compact RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience.

Job Details

• Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a 12-bed unit,
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a,
• Patient ratio of 1:4,
• Every other weekend requirement,
• Holiday rotation required,
• No on-call requirement,
• Floating required within scope to sister units/facilities, with agency staff floating first,
• Epic charting system used,

Job Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start,
• BLS and ACLS certifications required,
• NIHSS certification preferred,
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown/PCU or ICU experience required,
• Epic EMR experience preferred,
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration,
• Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management preferred,
• Experience with neuro stepdown conditions (CVA, craniotomy, TBI) preferred,
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management preferred,
• Social Security Number required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to cardiac, neuro, and telemetry patients,
• Royal blue scrub color required,
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility, as locals are not accepted,
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler,
• First-time travelers may be considered,
• Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed,
• All RTO must be submitted and approved prior to offer, with holiday RTO potentially delaying the process,
• Travelers may be required to support emergency response efforts during hurricane season (June-November),
