SENIOR ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER IN REDMOND, WA

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering from an accredited university. MSEE a plus.
• 2–6 years in hardware test and verification engineering for consumer electronics. Target range, not a hard requirement.
• Engineering-level judgment on test methodology — able to assess whether a method answers the question being asked, and to identify gaps or errors in a plan.
• Able to create, modify, interpret, review, and execute electrical test plans, and guide others through them.
• Verification of analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits at board and device level.
• Low-speed digital interfaces: I2C, I3C, SPI, UART, GPIO. Register-level configuration and debug from device datasheets.
• Bench instrumentation: oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, source meters, logic analyzers.
• Power measurements: load and line regulation, efficiency, ripple and noise, power sequencing, transient response.
• Measurement rigor: calibration, noise floor, probing and grounding effects, repeatability, and measurement uncertainty.
• Root cause analysis and failure diagnostics.
• Board bring-up and prototype validation.
• Technical writing: test procedures, reports, and clear communication with teams across multiple sites and time zones.
• Works independently with minimal supervision following onboarding.
• On-site in Redmond, WA. Not open to fully remote work.
• Travel as needed; access to reliable transportation required.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Background check required.
• Up to 20% of travel may be required between locations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Acoustic verification: anechoic chambers, HATS, microphone and speaker measurement. Training available; direct experience preferred.
• Audio electronics verification at the EE or board level — amplifiers, microphones, codecs.
• Audio analyzers: Audio Precision, Listen Inc. SoundCheck, HEAD acoustics LabCore / ACQUA.
• Fault condition testing: over-voltage, over-current, thermal shutdown.
• New product introduction experience across EVT, DVT, and PVT builds.
• Review of supplier and contract manufacturer test reports.
• Demonstrated appetite for learning new measurement domains.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position works in a lab environment on new innovative products for the consumer electronics space, in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements.
• Review test plans and test plan revisions for technical accuracy, and correctly interpret their intent. Test plans generally already exist and are usually modified by others.
• Execute tests according to established test plans.
• Learn all three verification disciplines — electrical, audio electrical, and acoustic — and support the verification team across all of them.
• Run acoustic testing hands-on. This is expected to be roughly 30–50% of the role.
• Run a smaller share of electrical and audio electrical testing directly, approximately 5–10%, where the need arises.
• Spend the remaining time reviewing electrical and audio electrical results produced by partner teams at other sites, and driving the resulting issues to closure through written communication and task tracking.
• Work alongside the verification lead and peers at other sites who own test execution. This is primarily a review and support role.

The salary range for this position is based on national rates . Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Base Salary: $104,000.00 - $175,000.00. Andrews Cooper is an equal-opportunity employer.
