RN (ED) - Full time, Nights - Mercy Jefferson

As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse at Mercy, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions. In our fast-paced ED, you’ll perform rapid assessments, prioritize care, administer medications, and coordinate treatments with an interdisciplinary team. You’ll use advanced technology and evidence-based protocols to stabilize patients while supporting families with clear communication. Responsibilities Provide rapid assessment, triage, and evidence-based emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders and clinical protocols. Monitor patient status, recognize deterioration, and initiate appropriate emergency responses. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans. Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHR. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions. Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards in the Emergency Department. Precept, mentor, and support nursing colleagues and new staff members. Participate in continuous improvement, clinical education, and unit-based initiatives.
