Position Overview: CCFS System Developer (24-Month Contract) You will support the ongoing development and enhancement of the Child Care Facility System (CCFS) to meet evolving regulatory and user needs. This role is crucial to ensuring compliance with federal mandates and improving system functionality for users. Key Responsibilities:Implement modifications and new features within CCFS to comply with new CCDBG regulations, including serious injury reporting, background checks, safety assessments, and inspections for Legally Exempt programs.Support integration of CCFS with the Child Care Provider Online Process project.Develop an integrated public child care web search combining CCFS facilities and NYC Group Day Care programs.Design and develop an Enforcement component within the system.Develop a Pre-K indicator and potentially a web service interface with the NYS Department of Education (DOE).Redesign the renewal training component of CCFS, including creating a web service to connect with the Aspire system operated by CUNY.Continue the multi-year re-write of the application from PowerBuilder to .Net, with an expected completion date in 2020.Enhance the Legally Exempt portion of CCFS to address user experience issues and federal requirements affecting the NYS subsidy program. Importance of Role:This position ensures that the unit can meet federal and state legal mandates timely and maintain a high quality of service to the user community. Without this resource, mandated updates would face significant delays, impacting compliance and user satisfaction. Daily Tasks:Collaborate with a team of developers to expand and improve the CCFS system.Work closely with Business Analysts on system analysis and logical design.Perform unit testing and address all identified bugs.Write and maintain complex VB.Net code.
