Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a setting that exemplifies best practices and outstanding customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, relevant nursing practice acts, and regulatory agency standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
• Apply new knowledge and skills gained from ongoing education to improve patient care and promote cost-saving practices.
• Make appropriate patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
• Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills with patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues, demonstrating respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly to manage patient and provider expectations, ensuring a positive experience through patient rounding, timely responses, and service recovery.
• Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, using electronic devices appropriately, and supporting healthcare students.
• Prioritize safety for patients, guests, staff, and self by adhering to safety protocols, reporting near misses, and following HIPAA and national safety standards.
• Engage in personal and professional growth through leadership opportunities, certifications, advanced degrees, and shared governance.
• Foster teamwork by motivating and guiding colleagues, encouraging cooperation, and providing mentoring and constructive feedback.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or, if unaccredited, a minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire.
• Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state nursing board.

Work Shift: Night shift, part-time, approximately 24 hours weekly.

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
