Structural and Outfitting Field Engineer

Reference: PR/599100_1782826272My Client is seeking a highly driven Structural & Outfitting Field Engineer to serve as the critical link between engineering and production teams during the construction, modification, and delivery of large, complex industrial assets. This role is responsible for supporting build strategy, coordinating installation activities, resolving field issues, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design requirements and project schedules.The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineering professional with strong field experience in structural fabrication, equipment installation, construction sequencing, and multi‑trade coordination within a heavy industrial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesField Engineering & Construction SupportServe as the primary engineering resource supporting field construction and installation activities. Provide technical guidance and real‑time problem solving to production, construction, and subcontractor teams. Support fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities. Identify and resolve field issues to minimize rework, delays, and cost impacts. Structural & Equipment InstallationSupport installation of structural assemblies, foundations, platforms, access systems, equipment supports, machinery foundations, and other large engineered systems.Review layouts, clearances, access requirements, and constructability concerns prior to installation. Assist with material take‑offs, sourcing coordination, and installation planning. Cross‑Functional CoordinationCoordinate activities between structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, HVAC, equipment installation, and construction teams. Work closely with supervisors, foremen, craft personnel, engineers, and contractors to maintain project execution and schedule performance. Facilitate resolution of installation conflicts and system interferences. Engineering Documentation & QualityMaintain accurate as‑built drawings, redlines, and field documentation. Review and update drawings to reflect field changes and improve constructability. Support inspections, quality documentation, deficiency resolution, and project closeout activities. Ensure work complies with applicable specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. Continuous Improvement & Project ExecutionSupport development of build strategies, work sequencing, and construction plans.Recommend improvements to layouts, workflows, installation methods, and construction practices. Drive safe, efficient project execution while supporting schedule and cost objectives. QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent field experience. 7+ years of experience supporting construction, fabrication, installation, or industrial project execution. Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors in a field‑based environment. Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar design/documentation software. Strong understanding of structural systems, fabrication methods, installation practices, and construction workflows. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents. PreferredExperience supporting large capital construction, marine, heavy industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.Familiarity with construction planning, field engineering, commissioning, and startup activities.Experience working within regulated or standards‑driven industries.Exposure to advanced design and production software platforms.
