Standby Security Officer

About the RoleEncore Protection Services is looking for dependable, professional security officers to join our standby team in the Philadelphia area. As a Standby Officer, you will be contacted on an as-needed basis to fill shifts when callouts or staffing gaps occur across our active client sites. This is a 1099 independent contractor position ideal for officers who want flexible work on their own schedule without a fixed weekly commitment.What to ExpectYou will be contacted by phone or through our scheduling platform when a shift becomes availableYou choose whether to accept or decline no minimum shift requirementShifts may include daytime, evening, overnight, and weekend hours depending on operational needsSites include commercial properties, residential communities, waterfront venues, and special events throughout PhiladelphiaResponsibilitiesReport to assigned post on time and in full Encore uniformFollow all site-specific post orders and client instructionsMonitor premises, control access, and respond to incidents professionallyComplete required reports accurately and on timeCommunicate any issues or incidents to your supervisor immediatelyWhat We're Looking ForPrior security experience preferred but not required we will train the right personProfessional appearance and strong communication skillsReliable transportation and ability to report on short noticeAbility to remain calm and professional under pressureValid PA or NJ security license preferred (or willingness to obtain)Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the United StatesCompensationRate varies per assignment communicated at the time each shift is offeredPaid on a regular basis for all completed shifts1099 independent contractor you are responsible for your own taxesForm 1099-NEC issued annually for earnings of $600 or moreWhy EncoreAt Encore Protection Services we operate by C.O.R.E.
