Work Environment

This role is based onsite at our specialized orthopedic outpatient office situated within a hospital facility in San Jose. The work environment is structured yet flexible, designed specifically to accommodate the rehabilitative needs of our patients. The facility is fully equipped with cutting-edge rehabilitation tools and technology, providing PTAs with the resources necessary to deliver effective treatment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, with shifts available from either 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Implementing customized treatment plans developed by licensed physical therapists.
• Preparing therapy environments and equipment for individual therapy sessions, ensuring every setting meets safety and procedural standards.
• Monitoring and documenting patient progress accurately while communicating updates and challenges to the therapy team during regular check-ins.
• Assisting with patient intake and scheduling tasks, while managing electronic medical records (EMR) in systems like WebPT to ensure a smooth administrative workflow.
• Engaging with patients empathetically and encouraging them to adhere to their treatment protocols, fostering a supportive atmosphere for healing.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clients predominantly include individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports-related injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will work closely with a range of patients, from athletes seeking to regain peak performance to others in need of rehabilitative care due to injuries or medical conditions. This variety requires adaptability and the ability to cater treatment approaches to each patient’s unique needs, fostering both physical recovery and emotional support.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
• An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in California.
• A minimum of two years of experience in an outpatient or similar clinical setting, demonstrating proficiency in rehabilitating patients.
• Strong technical skills, particularly in using EMR systems to document patient information efficiently and effectively.
• Excellent manual therapy skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient care.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with additional certifications related to orthopedic rehabilitation or specialized training in manual therapy techniques will be highly regarded. Familiarity with patient education and participation in multidisciplinary team environments will also enhance a candidate's profile.

Compensation and Benefits
