Supervisory Human Resources Specialist

This position is located in the HHS, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Human Capital, Division of Workforce Compliance (DWC), Workforce Management Group (WMG). As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist, GS-0201-15, you will serve as a Director in the DWC under the administrative direction of the Director the WMG leading and managing a staff of HR professionals who are responsible for providing advisory services and guidance to all levels of CMS management team. In order to qualify for the GS‑15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Leading human resources professionals responsible for labor and employee relations programs, including assigning work, managing performance, setting priorities, and providing strategic direction. Reviewing and evaluating staff work products involving disciplinary and adverse actions, performance matters, grievances, and labor relations issues. Analyzing and interpreting collective bargaining agreements for prospective changes and negotiating agreements with federal labor organizations. Drafting disciplinary and adverse action documents for executives and other managers to issue to subordinate employees. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
