Master Data Analyst

Job OverviewThe Master Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable material master data within SAP to support planning, purchasing, production, and inventory management. This role ensures system data aligns with actual operational capability, enabling stable planning signals and effective material flow. The position requires strong attention to detail, cross-functional coordination, and a proactive approach to identifying and correcting data gaps that drive shortages, excess inventory, or inaccurate schedules. This is an onsite postion in Leeds, AL. #LI-AO1A Day In The LifeMaster Data Management & AccuracyMaintain and validate material master data including: Lead timesLot sizesMin/max levelsMRP parametersProcurement and planning settingsEnsure SAP system data reflects real-world supplier and production capabilities.Identify and correct inaccurate or outdated master data inputs.Audit data regularly to maintain alignment with operational performance.Planning & System AlignmentSupport alignment between system planning signals (MRP, ATP, exception messages) and actual plant performance.Work with planning and purchasing teams to ensure data supports realistic schedules and priorities.Validate that demand, forecast consumption, and supply signals behave as intended.Troubleshoot system-driven issues causing shortages, delays, or excess inventory.Data Analysis & Issue ResolutionAnalyze material and system data to identify root causes of: Past due ordersMaterial shortagesIncorrect supply signalsInvestigate discrepancies between system data and shop floor execution.Partners with teams to implement corrections and prevent recurrence.Provide data-based recommendations to improve inventory and planning performance.Cross-Functional Coordination Collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Operations, and Engineering teams to ensure data integrity.Communicate data changes, impacts, and risks clearly across teams.Support resolution of material-related issues impacting production and shipment.Act as a key resource for system and data-driven troubleshooting.Continuous Improvement & Process DisciplineIdentify systemic issues caused by poor or inconsistent master data.Recommend improvements to planning parameters and data standards.Develop and maintain standard work for master data governance.Support initiatives to improve data accuracy, planning stability, and material flow.Expected OutcomesIncreased accuracy and reliability of SAP master data.More stable and realistic planning signals aligned with plant capability.Reduction in shortages, past due orders, and planning disruptions.Improved visibility and control over material flow and inventory.Stronger coordination between materials, planning, and operations teams.What will help you thrive in this role?Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trendsProficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with data analysis, modeling, or visualization tools preferredExperience working with data sets, including cleaning, analyzing, and drawing actionable insightsStrong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and system integrityAbility to learn and understand ERP systems (SAP experience preferred but not required)Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with planning, purchasing, and operations teamsAbility to manage multiple priorities and follow through on open items in a fast-paced environmentInternship, academic project, or entry-level experience in supply chain, data analysis, or operations preferredHubbell IncorporatedHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
