About the Position

Job Title: CVOR Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; CNOR preferred Must-Have: Cerner experience Description: Unit Notes: No first-time travelers are permitted. All required modules need to be completed prior to arrival. Travelers will be delayed if all modules are not completed. No exceptions will be made. Certifications required: BLS and ACLS; CNOR preferred. Candidates must be able to work in the general operating room. Number of operating rooms: Up to 9-10 rooms can be run daily. Average cases per day: 23-25 cases. Types of cases include general surgery, vascular, ortho, endo, and urology. A strong open-heart surgery program is present. Tech support is available. A charge nurse is on staff. Normal shifts include both 8 and 12-hour options. Weeknight on-call requirements begin at 1830 and go until 0600 the following morning. Minimum of 2 nights of on-call duty required per 4-week schedule. Weekend on-call requirements are currently every 2nd or 3rd weekend due to staffing constraints. Scrub colors will be provided. No floating outside of the operating room is permitted. RNs may float to the main operating room if needed. Cancellation policy: The facility can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting system used is Cerner.
