Admissions Officer

Overview The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is recruiting for an Admissions Officer to join our team within Enrollment Services. The role supports the admissions process by reviewing and evaluating undergraduate, graduate, and international applications, processing academic records and supporting documents, and making admission decisions in accordance with university policies and regulations. The position also contributes to data management, system testing, process improvements, and special projects that support enrollment management operations. Responsibilities Review and evaluate undergraduate, graduate, and international applications. Process academic records, transcripts, and supporting documents. Make admission decisions in accordance with university policies and regulations. Conduct detailed record reviews and calculations. Apply and interpret complex policies and procedures, exercising sound judgment when evaluating exceptions. Assist students, faculty, and staff throughout the admissions cycle. Contribute to data management, system testing, and process improvement initiatives. Participate in special projects that support enrollment management operations. Qualifications Experience working in a university admissions, student records, or similar administrative environment. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage a high‑volume workload with accuracy and efficiency. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures, exercising sound judgment when evaluating exceptions. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction; visa sponsorship is not accepted. Minimum Qualifications One year college coursework or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Position Details This is a full‑time, non‑exempt staff position; salary is determined by the UA Staff Salary Schedule at Grade 77 based on education and experience.
