Industrial Equipment Maintenance Technician

Your tasks

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of industrial forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, maintain inventory accuracies, identify root causes of equipment failures, and ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards.
• Extensive knowledge of forklift systems, including hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drive motors and engines (LP, diesel, and electric), steering and braking systems, and mast and lift mechanisms.
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment issues.
• Identifies root causes rather than treating symptoms.
• Uses diagnostic tools and service manuals effectively.
• Demonstrate systematic problem-solving under pressure.
• Ensures equipment is safe before returning it to service.
• Recognizes and corrects unsafe conditions proactively.
• Experienced in developing and executing PM programs.
• Understands the importance of reducing downtime through proactive maintenance.
• Maintains accurate service records and inspection documentation.
• Thorough during inspections and repairs.
• Sustain inventory accuracy to ensure on-hand availability.
• Identifies wear, leaks, structural damage, and developing failures before they become major issues.
• Completes documentation accurately.
• Takes ownership of equipment repairs.
• Works efficiently to minimize production and logistics disruptions.
• Prioritizes critical repairs appropriately.
• Responds effectively to equipment breakdowns.
• Read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Diagnose electrical faults.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic pressure and flow issues.
• Repair and test hydraulic components.
• Communicates repair findings clearly to operators, supervisors, and management.
• Provides recommendations for equipment care and operational improvements.
• Can train operators on proper equipment use when needed.
• Seeks opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
• Identifies recurring failures and recommends permanent corrective actions.
