Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methods.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans aimed at addressing immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing demands.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions focused on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive care plans.
  • Provide educational support to patients and families to facilitate progress beyond clinical appointments.
  • Engage in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care throughout the treatment process.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and peer consultation.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not been obtained yet.
Certifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic practices for all ages, deeply aware of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to tailor therapy methods to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment and adept problem-solving capabilities.
  • Competency with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
