Vehicle Inspector II (Manheim)

Job Description Mobile Inspector II – a member of the Manheim mobile inspections team responsible for conducting vehicle condition inspections on dealer/client lots. The role requires accurate documentation of overall vehicle condition within Manheim inspection parameters and building trust with clients to increase inventory inspections. Employment Details Hourly pay range: $16.83 – $25.29 per hour. Annual incentive/commission target: $6,000. Shift: Day. Travel: 100% required (local and out‑of‑state). Location: Must work at a specified Cox Automotive location (no remote option). Responsibilities Conduct thorough vehicle inspections of exterior and interior, documenting damage, missing or inoperable items, and vehicle equipment. Locate, start, move, inspect, and return vehicles on dealer or client lots safely. Verify vehicle identification, VIN, mileage, and sub‑series, entering accurate information into the inspection system. Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components. Prepare and provide daily activity reports for management. Adapt to daily appointment changes to ensure efficient and effective dealer visits. Develop strong knowledge of clients in the territory, engaging partners to keep them active with Manheim mobile inspections. Leverage partner data and insight to maximize volume of units inspected on dealer lots. Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador, providing premier client experience and ensuring satisfaction. Collaborate with Wholesale Specialist team, peers, and other Manheim workgroups and auctions. Utilize SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews. Understand NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy and participate in continuous improvement/lean initiatives. Maintain production expectations set by the leader and demonstrate safety commitment by following procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years of automotive‑related experience. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented, able to work independently with remote supervision. Ability to multitask, follow directions, and handle physical demands (lift at least 30 lbs., stand, walk, crouch, bend, kneel, and lift hood or trunk). Visual acuity for identifying exterior and interior damage. Preferred: Experience with handheld devices, body/paint/ mechanical repair knowledge, familiarity with unibody and full‑frame vehicles.
