Supervising Physician - California (1099 Independent Contractor)

Design Wellness Inc. is a telehealth practice committed to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare to patients across Nevada or California and beyond. We are building a team of exceptional medical professionals and are seeking a qualified Medical Director to serve as the physician of record and provide clinical oversight for our growing team of mid-level practitioners.
ROLE SUMMARY
This role will serve as the supervising physician for nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) operating within the practice. This role is the primary physician of record on all practice compliance documentation, NPI filings, and initial prescription applications. The ideal candidate is experienced in telehealth, comfortable with collaborative practice agreements, and holds an unrestricted license to prescribe controlled substances.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as the physician of record on practice documentation, NPI applications, and licensing filings Supervise and provide clinical oversight to mid-level providers (NPs and PAs) Execute and maintain Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPAs) and/or Supervision Agreements as required by state law Review and co-sign charts, prescriptions, and clinical decisions as required Ensure compliance with Nevada state regulations governing telehealth and supervised practice Be available for clinical consultation with supervised providers on a timely basis Support DEA registration and controlled substance compliance requirements for the practiceREQUIREMENTS
Active, unrestricted California medical license (MD or DO) Active DEA registration with full Schedule II–V prescribing authority No history of disciplinary action, license restrictions, or adverse actions by any medical board Experience supervising NPs and/or PAs in a clinical or telehealth setting Comfortable serving as physician of record for compliance, NPI, and credentialing documentation Willingness to enter into Collaborative Practice Agreements as required by Nevada regulations Reliable availability for provider consultations and chart reviewPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Multi-state medical license (strong bonus) Prior experience as a Medical Director or supervising physician in a telehealth environment Familiarity with multi-state telehealth compliance and licensing requirements Board certified in a relevant specialtyCOMPENSATION
