Job Title CA Phlebotomist 1 Job Summary We are seeking a CA Phlebotomist 1 to work at Octapharma Plasma donation centers, ensuring compliance with regulations, providing excellent donor service, and performing venipuncture and plasmapheresis procedures. This Is What You’ll Do Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA, OSHA, CLIA, GMP) and maintain high production standards. Maintain high levels of customer service and positive donor experience in line with company values. Keep work area clean and professional. Review and confirm donor identification and maintain donor confidentiality per SOP. Set up and prepare equipment and supplies for venipuncture and plasmapheresis. Label each unit and sample accurately. Execute venipunctures and plasma collections, maintaining the highest safety standards. Operate automated plasmapheresis machines and respond to all machine alarms, alerts, and donor adverse events. Monitor donor conditions to ensure comfort, safety, and product quality. Manage biohazard waste disposal and clean any spills; dispose of contaminated equipment according to safety protocols. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly calibration and maintenance of machines; remove and replace equipment as needed. Maintain accurate documentation, including machine logs. Report all unsafe situations and conditions to management. Manage inventory and replenish supplies on plasma carts. Drive training efficiencies to ensure timeliness and compliance. Troubleshoot machine alarms/alerts and routinely perform quality control on equipment. Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned. This Is What It Takes High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Required certification or licensing as mandated by state regulations. Minimum three months of experience in a medical or health‑care environment, or equivalent education and experience. Documentation of completed training required before performing duties independently. Strong customer service skills. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal protocols. Basic computer proficiency. Accurate and complete documentation skills. Ability to interpret safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions. Demonstrated consistency and reliability (attendance, punctuality, full effort, schedule flexibility). Availability to work daytime, evening, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts. Ability to perform venipuncture. Effective communication skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to 35 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel. Ability to use all required PPE. Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. Ability to view a video display terminal within 18 inches for extended periods. Ability to work in an environment at -40°C as per SOP. Ability to perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small motor skills (e.g., drawing blood). Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
