IT Auditor

Salary: $83,200 - 136,800 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Information Systems, Information Technology, Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or another business-related discipline with an Accounting minor; a masters degree is preferred.
• We require at least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in healthcare or in a lead auditor capacity.
• We require a strong grasp of auditing frameworks and accounting principles and standards.
• We require knowledge of core audit concepts, methods, approaches, and processes.
• We need someone who can prioritize effectively and manage projects with confidence.
• We value strong accuracy, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical ability.
• We require excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of management and staff.
• We prefer certifications such as CIA, CISA, CRMA, CISSP, HCISPP, or CCSA.
• We require strong experience with data analytics and reporting tools.
• We require candidates who can relocate to Sioux Falls, South Dakota if they live outside our footprint, or travel there as needed for audits if they already live within our footprint.

• We perform internal audits at both the enterprise level and at the location or department level based on the engagement.
• We manage and support the annual internal audit plan, risk assessments, reporting capabilities, audits, and investigations.
• We lead assigned audit engagements, complete fieldwork, review workpapers, and finalize audit reports.
• We review findings and follow up on remediation plans with audit leadership and senior stakeholders.
• We ensure our systems, policies, applications, and processes align with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• We prepare and update risk assessments to evaluate controls, identify vulnerabilities, and reduce risks tied to healthcare systems and regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH.
• We assist with the annual audit plan and help develop and revise internal audit programs as the control environment changes.
• We prepare clear reporting, including executive summaries and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• We analyze audit results to identify inefficiencies, weaknesses, and non-compliance.
• We collaborate across departments to improve regulatory compliance, data integrity and analytics, confidentiality, security, privacy, and infrastructure integrity.
• We coordinate with cross-functional teams and external auditors, respond to audit requests, and recommend action plans to close gaps.
• We monitor internal control processes and complete the documentation needed.
• We identify cross-functional operational, IT, compliance, legal, financial, and strategic risks during audits.
• We design, implement, and oversee audit programs and plans, coordinate fieldwork, conduct quality reviews, and finalize reports for leadership review.
• We stay current on AI auditing trends, data analytics, financial reporting, healthcare and technology audit frameworks, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
• We support special projects and other leadership activities without compromising internal audit independence.
