Professor of Nursing

The Chair of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program provides academic leadership, student advising, and program oversight to ensure the success, quality, and continuous improvement of graduate nursing education. This role is responsible for student progression, faculty supervision, curriculum development, and maintaining high academic and accreditation standards. The Chair collaborates closely with academic leadership to enhance program outcomes, student retention, and institutional reputation. Key Responsibilities Student Advising & Academic Support Provide comprehensive academic advising and mentorship to graduate nursing students, supporting successful admission, progression, and program completion. Conduct regular student meetings to guide course enrollment, monitor academic progress, and address challenges. Identify and support at‑risk students in collaboration with academic leadership. Ensure timely communication and responsiveness to student inquiries. Guide students through certification processes, ensuring high success rates. Promote student success through resource sharing and academic planning. Contribute to the overall success and strategic goals of the School of Nursing. Participate in program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support student recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts. Maintain strong program outcomes, including retention and graduation benchmarks. Participate in accreditation, compliance, and institutional assessment activities. Teaching & Curriculum Development Teach graduate‑level nursing courses within the MSN/FNP and/or DNP programs. Develop and update course content aligned with academic standards and program objectives. Utilize diverse teaching and assessment strategies to enhance student learning outcomes. Maintain high teaching effectiveness as reflected in student evaluations. Faculty & Staff Supervision Collaborate with academic leadership to recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate part‑time faculty and academic advisors. Ensure instructional quality and alignment with institutional standards. Provide mentorship and performance feedback to faculty and advisors. Support curriculum delivery, course quality, and student engagement initiatives. Qualifications & Requirements Education & Licensure Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) required; terminal degree (DNP or PhD) preferred Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) required Active and current FNP licensure Experience Proven experience in graduate nursing education and student mentoring Demonstrated teaching excellence in academic or clinical settings Experience with curriculum development and academic program leadership Prior experience supervising faculty or academic staff preferred Skills Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities Experience working with adult and non‑traditional learners High level of organization, attention to detail, and accountability Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas) Preferred Qualifications Record of academic scholarship, research, or publications Active participation in professional nursing organizations Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education #J-18808-Ljbffr Firman Solutions
