CDL A Driver

Position : Class B CDL Driver/Material Handler

Overview:

Menconi Terrazzo LLC, a top Midwest terrazzo and specialty flooring subcontractor, is growing! Our delivery drivers are responsible for safely delivering materials, supplies, and installation equipment to and from our jobsites. Additionally, this role is a key communicator between on-site laborers and warehouse operations to ensure continual production. To be successful in this role, the candidate must be reliable and timely, prioritize safety and understand DOT regulations, while being able to prioritize and be solutions driven.

Key Responsibilities :

Driving/Logistics

• Safely transport and unload skids of materials and equipment to new and existing projects
• Collect all remaining materials and equipment from jobsites for project clean-out
• Pick up materials from vendor warehouses and transport to jobsite or warehouse
• Work with vendors to ensure deliveries are accurate and received in a timely manner
• Communicate with on-site laborers to ensure uninterrupted production and prevent project delays
• Maintain fuel levels in fleet and communicate when maintenance and repairs are needed
• Complete daily vehicle inspections report on utilized vehicles
• Assist with fleet management and scheduled maintenance
• Ensure all packing slips/items receipts are turned in daily
• Maintain safe, organized and clean fleet during and after use
• Assist warehouse by operating forklift to receive or load materials as needed
• Follow job specific badging processes and requirements
• Keep trucker driver logs for all milage/fuel activities outside of IL
• Deliver to/from heavily congested areas, such as Downtown/Loop
• Ability to expedite unforeseen dock access/logistical issues; take charge on demand

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of driver experience with clean driving record
• CDL Type B License, Airbrake Endorsement Required
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks, liftgates etc.
• Flexible schedule Night & Weekend Availability/Occasional Long Hours
• Occasionally may be required for overnight travel (rare but possible)
• Must pass background check and pre-employment DOT drug screen
• Must be able to lift minimum 50lbs, throughout the workday
• Basic Technology Skills use of email, texting, smart devices etc.

Salary Range: $26.00 - 32.00/per hour, depending on experience

OT highly expected - Annual Performance Bonus Potential
