Charge Nurse (RN) - Psychiatric - $36-58 per hour

BJC HealthCare is seeking a Psychiatric Charge Nurse (RN) in Saint Louis, Missouri. This ongoing staff position involves leading a psychiatric unit under the direction of a manager, planning and coordinating activities, performing direct patient care, and serving as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Role Purpose Under the direction of the manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as a clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process for the assigned unit as needed. Responsibilities Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into ambulatory care. Critically assesses patient data to mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults to the interprofessional team as appropriate. Leads development and implementation of complex individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver. Utilizes and champions evidence‑based practices (e.g., journal club, practice change, literature search, dissemination of new knowledge). Explores opportunities to advance nursing practice, including community service events, patient/family education, ethics advisory committees, adjunct faculty, and leadership roles. Analyzes gaps in practice standards and provides feedback to peers in collaboration with leadership to enhance safe patient care. Leads evaluation of patient and family experience, adjusting care to improve satisfaction and quality. Minimum Requirements Nursing Diploma or Associate's degree in Nursing. 2–5 years of nursing experience. RN license.
