We are a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building a community-wide commitment to ensure that every child is ready to succeed in school and life through comprehensive, high-quality early learning environments.SUMMARY:The Fraud Prevention Specialist ensures the integrity of state and federal early childhood funding. The position will assist in identifying, preventing, investigating, and reducing fraudulent activity with an organization. This role protects ELC funds from waste, abuse, and intentional misrepresentation.HOURS :This is a full-time position, and business hours at the Boynton location is Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Longer hours, evenings, and weekends may be necessary on occasion.PAY RATE : up to $24.00 per hour commensurate with experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :Review cases, claims, applications, payments, or transactions for signs of fraud.Identify suspicious patterns, inconsistencies, or policy violations.Conduct investigations and gathering supporting documentation.Working with internal departments, law enforcement, vendors, or regulatory agencies when needed.Maintaining detailed case records and preparing reportsDeveloping and improving fraud prevention procedures and controls.Monitoring compliance with policies, regulations, and security requirements.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE :Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Finance or Early Care and Education or a related field.Two-years of related experience and/or training in data verification, benefit processing, or auditing.Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Power BI).Experience with data entry, reporting and document management.Familiarity with childcare subsidy structures or Head Start funding rules.
