Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized critical care nursing services for cardiac ICU patients, managing complex cardiac, neuro, and medical conditions. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver advanced cardiac and ICU nursing care, including monitoring and managing ventilators, IV pumps, and Swan-Ganz catheters.
• Perform critical procedures such as intubations and central line placements, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols.
• Assess patient conditions continuously, adjusting care plans based on real-time data and physician directives.
• Collaborate with physicians, tech staff, and families to coordinate comprehensive patient care and discharge planning.
• Document patient progress accurately in Meditech EMR and maintain strict compliance with unit policies.
• Assist in training and mentoring new staff and travel nurses to uphold unit standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and minimum of 1-year recent ICU experience in a hospital setting.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIH required; NIH preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Meditech EMR and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment.
• Possess strong critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Experience with neuro and medical ICU populations is preferred.
• Capable of performing high-acuity procedures safely in a high-pressure environment.
