The Assistant Branch Manager plays a key leadership role in supporting daily branch operations, strengthening team performance, and delivering an exceptional member experience. This role partners closely with the Branch Manager and serves as a hands-on leader responsible for coaching employees, driving results, and ensuring operational consistency. This position is ideal for a motivated leader who is ready to take ownership, lead from the front, and build readiness for future branch leadership opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence and Risk Management

• Ensure branch operations are accurate, efficient, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, transaction approvals, and issue resolution
• Maintain cash controls, security standards, and audit readiness
• Identify operational risks and escalate concerns appropriately

Member Experience

• Deliver and model a high standard of member service in every interaction
• Resolve escalated member concerns using sound judgment and professionalism
• Reinforce service behaviors that build trust and long-term relationships

Sales and Growth

• Support branch sales and service goals through daily coaching and accountability
• Guide employees in conducting needs-based conversations and identifying solutions
• Monitor performance and follow up to ensure consistent execution

People Leadership and Development

• Supervise frontline staff and provide clear direction and expectations
• Deliver ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback
• Hold employees accountable for performance, behaviors, and results
• Identify and develop employees for future leadership opportunities

Performance Management

• Track, review, and analyze branch performance metrics
• Take action to address performance gaps and improve results
• Communicate performance insights and opportunities to leadership

Culture and Leadership Presence

• Model professionalism, accountability, and organizational values
• Promote a positive, respectful, and performance-driven team environment
• Support organizational initiatives and lead through change effectively

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, or related field preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of retail banking or credit union experience
• Previous supervisory, lead, or assistant management experience preferred
• Demonstrated success in team leadership, sales performance, and branch operations
• Proven ability to coach employees, drive performance, and lead through change

Skills and Competencies
