Project Surveyor

Project SurveyorTeam Trident is seeking a Project Surveyor to assist in the mobilization and operation of positioning equipment aboard survey vessels operating out of Houston, TX. This is an entry-level survey role in which the successful candidate will work under direct supervision to support surface and sub-surface positioning operations on marine construction survey projects.Main responsibilities include the following. Other tasks may be added as needed:Communicate effectively as a junior member of the survey teamAdhere to company and client safety policies at all timesAssist in the mobilization and demobilization of surface and sub-surface positioning equipmentOperate surface positioning software and equipment under direct supervisionOperate Ultra Short Base Line (USBL) equipment under direct supervisionPerform survey note keeping and geodesy confirmations under direct supervisionAssist with other survey-related duties as assignedBackground and experience:Completion of required offshore safety and client orientation training (e.g., BOSIET/HUET, contractor safety orientations) or ability to obtainFamiliarity with survey positioning software and USBL systems preferred (e.g., Starfix.NG or similar platforms)Working knowledge of risk assessment principles and offshore HSE practicesAbility to read charts, take sound velocity profiles, and maintain accurate survey logs and documentationWillingness to complete company-provided technical training programWorking conditions:Work performed aboard survey vessels operating out of Houston, TX, including offshore assignmentsExtended offshore rotations, including day and night operationsPhysically demanding work, including time on deck and in varying weather conditionsValid ENG1 (or equivalent) offshore medical certificate requiredSafety gear required in accordance with vessel and client HSE standardsOther qualities we value:Team-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanshipStrong communication skills and ability to work well under direct supervisionAttention to detail in data logging and positioning tasksEagerness to learn and progress technical survey competencies
