Cutter Operator

Ashland Specialty Ingredients, G.P. Cutter Operator Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Cutter Operator to join our Ashland Specialty Ingredients G.P. business at our Hopewell, VA location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the manufacturing function. This position will report to Production Supervisor. Responsibilities Move cellulose with lift truck from warehouse to cutting area and mount in position. Start and operate cutters, thread cellulose. Regulate cutter speeds by computer and observation of ammeter readings. Cut prescribed amounts of cellulose as determined by cutting schedule. Inspect screens after each charge. Inspect dust collector once each shift or between grade changes. Keep record of ammeter readings, silo weights, cutter temperatures, delays and other pertinent data. Salvage Kraft paper from rolls and bales, load scrap truck periodically. Perform other duties as directed by foreman or supervisor. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Maintain unloading screw speed to reactors. Enter cellulose bins on various types of cellulose products. Operate computer. Count month-end cellulose inventory physically. Unload cellulose from railcar and truck. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. 1–2 years working in manufacturing.
